These volumes, and the annotated collected editions (which I love and have talked about before), collected storyarcs of Sandman as well as could be done in context of Sandman non-linear, anti-plot structure. Preludes and Nocturnes Preludes and Nocturnes recaps here: Glyph and Patrick tackled the first four issues, Jaybird tackled the fifth, Glyph recapped six and seven. I did not find this to be too distracting or difficult to figure out the sequencing of the panels, but I could see how this style could pose problems for other comics.
